Google Adwords - pay per
click:
With the number of sites currently on the internet, it's hard for people to sift through the
millions of sites that come up. For example, go to www.google.co.uk and enter "food". You will millions of hits but notice on the right hand side there are a few
that stand out. These sites have registered with google adds and pay Google everytime someone clicks on their
website. They appear on the first page and are easily spotted when a person is looking for
something.
It's a type of pay-per-click advertising
program to promote your website(s).
You create your own ads, choose your
keywords -- and best of all -- you only pay when someone clicks your ad!
Go to: http://www.google.co.uk/adwords to read more about the Adwords program.
What is brilliant is that it gives
you the opportunity to try out many different adverts & it rotates the ads and
then uses the one that gets the most clicks.
Google Adwords - How it works....
While you go through the sign up process you create your first
advert
You then choose keywords, which are words or phrases related to your business. You can edit your ads and
adjust your budget until you obtain the results that you want.
Where will your ads appear

When people search on Google using one of your keywords, your ad may appear next to the
search results. For example, go to www.google.co.uk - enter a search word. Notice the column on the right hand
side....under the heading 'Sponsored Links' - this is where the google ads appear. On your
google admin page it records the fact that your advert has been displayed on the google search page and
this is called an impression. You are not charged when your ad is
displayed only when your advert is clicked on.
Additionally, your ads may appear on content sites and on other
products such as news pages, domains and blogs, in the Google Network. Their global search
network includes plenty other search engines.
Pay per click (CPC - Cost per Click)
People can simply click on your ad which takes them to your website. This is counted as a 'click' and you
pay for this click. You choose how much you want to pay per click and how much you are happy to spend a day
on these hits. The higher you pay and the higher your CTR is (more about that in another
email) the more clicks you get. Once your ads are active, you can adjust your maximum CPC to increase
your ads' position or reduce your costs.
Cost
It costs a set ammount to activate the ad campaign and then it depends on you how much you
want to pay. You choose the maximum that you want to spend a
day.
